Lauren participated i n gymnastics from an early age, training at the Jack Kane Centre, Edinburgh, and beg an trampolining with CETC in 2005 in the development class at the Crags Sports Centre, Edinburgh, when Lauren Jeffrey invited her to the class es , after ‘spotting’ her at a Craigmillar Youth Challenge programme where she was a youth helper.
When CETC was formed in October 2006, Lauren joined the Club and began competing at SG competitions, quickly moving up the levels and finally achieving Scottish Nationals title s in 2008, 200 9 & 2010 . Lauren qualified for the Scottish Nationals in 2011 and each following year.
Lauren started training in DMT with the Club in May 2009 , competing for the first time on the British Circuit , and qualifying for the British National Championship s in 2009 (9 th place NAT C) , 2010 (30 th place NAT C), 2011 for both DMT (28 th place NAT C) and TRA ( 27 th place NAT C) . In 2011 at the Northern Irish Gala, she achieved & accept ed a promotional offer to FIG B, the first member of CETC to attain this level. Lauren qualified for the 2012 British Championships , finishing 35 th NAT C O19 (TRA) and 21 st FIG B O15 (DMT). In 2014, Lauren took the British Champion title for DMT NDP 7 17+.
Lauren has represented Scotland on two occasion in the Home Nation events – f or both TRA and DMT along with Synchro, finishing 3 rd in 2014 with current partner Leona Scott. In October 2012, Lauren received the ‘Community Coach of the Year’ award at both the Edinburgh Sports Awards 2012 & Sportscotland 2012 Annual Awards. Lauren has taken part in several of Edinburgh Leisure’s Annual Gymnastics Displays and Gymfests in Edinburgh & Irivine , and is an Assistant Dance Teacher at Party Dance, Party Planet in Edinburgh.
Lauren recently gained her Honours Degree in Sport & Exercise Science (2:1) and wishes to continuing her studies in Sports Psychology relating her studies to her trampolining . Lauren will be traveling to Camp America for the summer months t his year, where she will coach gymnastics.
