“We were lucky enough to get involved with CETC in late 2017 after my daughter, Amelia, nagged me to swap her over to Trampolining and DMT, having watched it from her gymnastics class across the hall.
Since my son wasn’t actively involved in sport through the weeknights, I thought I’d put him into the same classes, rather than have him twiddle his thumbs while we waited for her to train. I think it is fair to say we ignited an immediate passion for Archie!

Not too soon after the kids got into competing, I decided to do the judging course, as I knew the Club had to submit judges for each competition, and since I was entering 2 each time, it seemed only fair.
Once I got over my own nerves initially, I did find judging strangely therapeutic as it stopped me getting nervous watching the kids, and certainly made the day go a lot quicker.

I also took on the Safeguarding Officer role for a few years, again which was an interesting role and gave me real insight into other aspects of the Club, the hard work that goes on behind the scenes and the commitment of the coaches and committee members.

Amelia has ‘retired’ from training now, but with Archie ongoing, it’s good to still be actively involved as a parent/taxi/judge, and meet other club members at the competitions and events through the year.”
