Kayleigh began trampolining at the age of 5, joining big sister Lauren at Musselburgh/Meadowbank Trampoline Club. She steadily progressed over the years from Novice level to Elite, winning a Scottish Nationals title in 1996 – and the Scottish Schools title in the same year. A win at the Perth open in 1997 was followed in 1998 by another Nationals title. In 2000, Kayleigh very briefly transferred to Lasswade Trampoline Club, when a recurring knee injury (not helped by 3 ballet & jazz classes per week!) resulted in a short retiral from the sport. She then volunteered her skills & obtained her Assistant Coach qualification, while working alongside Lauren at the Crags Sports Centre, Edinburgh. Kayleigh then gained her Coach qualification and subsequently her Club Coach & Senior Club Coach qualifications, and continues to work with Lauren for CETC at Lasswade & Meadowmill, and for East & Midlothian Councils. Kayleigh decided to return to competitive trampolining in 2006, obtaining the Nationals qualifying score after her first returning competition – and went on to win her 3rd Nationals title. She then gained a further Scottish National title at level 2 in 2008, and in September 2010 won the Scottish National title at Ladies O19 Level D.
After a successful two years qualifying & competing Trampoline & DMT on the British circuit, Kayleigh took 16th place in the Ladies NAT C Individual Trampolining at the British Championships in 2011, also qualifying at DMT, after which she decided to go out on a high, and retired from competitive trampolining & DMT.
Kayleigh graduated from Edinburgh Napier University with a B.A. (HONS) degree in Business Management in 2010, which she puts to good use as the Treasurer/Administrator at the Club. In March 2011, Kayleigh passed her Diploma in Swedish Massage, and went on to gain a further Diploma in Indian Head Massage. Kayleigh gained her Diploma in Sports & Remedial Massage in April 2012, passing with flying colours.
Kayleigh also completed and passed her UKCC Level 1 Pre-School Gymnastic course in December 2012 and continues to assist in classes at Lasswade HSC throughout the week. She is awaiting the exam for her UKCC Level 2 Pre-School Gymnastics course.
