Lauren began her trampolining career at the age of 9, at a sports summer school in East Lothian. She joined Musselburgh/Meadowbank Trampoline Club and won her first Nationals title in 1997. In 2000, Lauren transferred to Lasswade Trampoline Club, where she continued training & competing for a short time, until leaving for Stirling University in 2001, where she competed and coached for a year. She returned to competitive trampolining for the Club after completing her degrees, winning Scottish National Titles in 2007 & 2008, after which she retired from competing to focus on her coaching.

She has continued her personal development by securing many additional qualifications, and progressing through the coaching and judging levels, to High Performance and Regional respectively. Over the years she has created and facilitated many Partnerships with Local Authorities and Active Schools programmes, to create a functioning pathway from grass-roots to performance, helping to ensure youngsters are offered opportunities to help them reach their potential in the sport. Lauren has contributed to the coaching & success of many Scottish National Champions, and British Championships medallists in 2011-2014. In 2013 she took the Club to their first International Competition – The Loule Cup, Portugal, where CETC’s women’s DMT Team came home with team bronze behind Canada & Portugal, with one gymnast securing individual silver in the Junior DMT competition. Lauren was awarded ‘Trampoline Coach of The Year’ by Scottish Gymnastics at their Bi-Annual Awards Dinner in August 2009, and again in March 2011. She has been selected and qualified as a SQA/SG Assessor, and completed Tutor Training for SG. She also Tutors for British Gymnastics, delivering their Teacher Courses to PE teachers around Scotland. Lauren was selected as Scotland DMT Coach for the 2012 Home Nations, and Scotland Team Coach for BG Regional Team Finals in 2014 & again in 2017. She was selected as Great Britain DMT Coach, alongside Phil Dodson, for the World Age Group Championships in Daytona, USA in November 2014. In 2015, Lauren coached the GB DMT Teams for both World Age Group & World Championships in Denmark, and the DMT Team at the Loule Cup in Portugal, where the women’s team secured Gold. Lauren is currently coaching the GB DMT Squads at Lilleshall, together with Phil, & Tom Holman, in preparation for the next major International events.
