The Scottish National Championships 2018 were held at Bells Sports Centre, Perth on Saturday 29th & Sunday 30th September. It was a fantastic -but long weekend – full of great results!
The morning on Saturday started bright and early with our NDP1 trampoline gymnasts starting at 8.50am with Izzy Towers completing two nice routines and coming 9th in a very competitive category!
Next up was NDP2 on trampoline, with Amelia Lawson & Emma Forrest securing 3rd & 4th place respectively, as well as NDP5 on DMT, with Taylor Robertson completing four clean passes to place 2nd & win a silver medal!
The success on DMT continued with Olivia Purves placing 3rd in NDP6 13-14 female category, Katie Brown winning a bronze medal in the NDP6 15-16 female, and Leona Scott completing 4 beautiful passes to win 1st place, becoming Scottish Champion for NDP6 17+ female!
Back on trampoline after a short lunch break, we had NDP4 category with 3 CETC gymnasts, Kirsty Beaton, Ellie McDonaugh and Olivia Purves in the 13+ age group gaining 4th, 5th & 7th place respectively. Great job for a very tough group of nearly 20 gymnasts!
The day finished with all FIG gymnasts on DMT, where CETC had 3 competitors, Kelly Wynne, Ava Harvey & Madeline Smith placing 1st, 2nd & 3rd respectively, with Kelly becoming FIG 13-14 Scottish Champion! Unfortunately due to injury, our Senior FIG DMT gymnast Caitlin O’Brien was unable to compete, but she came along to coach- & also had a try at commentating!
