The newly reformed Fundraising Group organised a couple of fundraisers over the last few weeks of term.

A Treasure Hunt involved all Club members (Thanks to Myra for the great maps) and a fantastic amount of money was raised by everyone who took part.
Kaitlyn Wallace was the winner of the prize for collecting the most sponsor money - well done Kaitlyn - what a great effort!

Running over a whole week in June, was the Holiday Fancy Dress, where every member attending classes paid £1 to dress up in their favourite holidays outfit to come to training.

There were some very interesting outfits from gymnasts and coaches! Well done to everyone for joining in and making it a fun week - while raising funds for the Club!

THE FITNESS WHEEL IS HERE!

Big surprises at training on Sunday 20 March 2017 - the Fitness Wheel arrived at CETC! And some other tumbling & exercise equipment too!

Everyone had great fun opening all the packages to see what was inside - & have a go on all the fun stuff!

Ava & Madeline have been fundraising for many months to raise funds for the Wheel, & although they didn't manage to quite reach their target - they made a great effort! Well done girls!

Thanks to additional funding from Midlothian Council and CETC, the total needed was raised, which meant that the long-awaited equipment could be purchased.

Definitely looks like a fun and varied way to exercise!!!

DAVID'S WALK IN THE PENTLANDS

On Saturday 11 March 2017, Club helper David Connolly organised a walk up the Pentland Hills for Club members and friends. Although the turnout could have been better - everyone who took part had a great day!

It took approximately 4 hours to complete the middle option (ie the 2-hill version of the high level route), with everyone well kitted out for the trek. Catriona was particularly good at keeping the others motivated - and Taylor (Redpath) was justifiably proud of getting up the two big hills, including one which still had snow on it! Well done you!

Massive thanks to David for his hill walking and Duke of Edinburgh expertise, the time given to organising beforehand, and supervising everyone through the route on the day.

Great achievement everyone!

Club member David Connolly, has organised a family Club walk up the Pentland Hills, on Saturday 11th March.

David is an experienced hill-walker in his role as an assessor for the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme - so has plenty of knowledge of the hills.Information has been emailed out to everyone- with the walk starting at Flotterstone at 10am, and finishing up there too - with an optional lunch at the Flotterstone Inn for anyone in need of sustenance (or some hydration!) after their walk!

Family and friends are welcome to come along too - dogs are also welcome, provided they are kept on a lead at all times (as it's lambing season). It's a great opportunity to meet up with other Club parents & youngsters - so dig out those walking boots and come along and enjoy some fresh air and fun!
