EDINBURGH GHOST TOUR

  • 15 June 2014
  • cetc_admin

On Wednesday 11 June 2014, those taking part met Lydia at the Mercat Cross - this was the site where people were tortured for their crimes in Old Edinburgh! Lydia demonstrated 2 forms of torture on 2 very willing victims - Duncan (Jenny's Stepdad) and Steve (Katie Brown's dad).
This was hilarious - although I am sure the real thing was horrendous! Lydia took the group to Parliament Square, to the area where the public hangings were carried out.

Margaret (Katie Brown's mum) and myself were the victims this time! Too gruesome to tell you what happened!!!

From there, we went down a close to the underground part of the tour. By candlelight, we were told scary stories of Old Edinburgh.
It was a very fun and interesting evening!

Thank you to Jayne Clark for organising the tour, and to everyone who came along and supported the Club social event fundraiser.

CETC Championships were held on Sunday 18 May 2014 at Lasswade. Over 70 members took part in the competitions - trampolining, synchro and DMT - and a fanatastic day was had by all.

Loads of spectators - family and friends - came along to support the competitors on the day. The usual stalls were available - tombola, home baking, Jayne's jewellery, Molly's hamper raffle and Club kit. Steve Brown also organised a special Club Champs Bonus Ball draw - earning the winning number £60! (won by Steven Paterson, No. 36)

Everyone was very generous with their support for fundraising at the event, and money raised on the day will be divided between
our qualifiers for the BG Regional Finals in June, to help supoort their accommodation and travel to Exeter, and general Club funds. Thank you!

Come to training in your pyjama’s or onesies on the week beginning Monday 2 June until Sunday 8 June 2014.

The funds raised from this fancy dress week will be put towards supporting our CETC members representing Scotland at Exeter in the BG Regional Team Finals (4 gymnasts, 3 judges and 2 coaches selected).

A donation of loose change would be appreciated, and if you train more than once in the week a donation of £3 would cover the whole week.

You must remember even although its pyjama week you must ensure they are suitable to be worn on the trampoline (no buttons/zips).

If you are unsure please bring a change of clothes to train in when you’re on the trampoline. At each training session a prize will be issued for the best “pyjama outfit” – go on let's have some fun!!!

Parent, Janis Harvey (Ava's mum) has organised a Great CETC Bake-Off on Sunday 1 June 2014 at Lasswade.

Club members are invited to bake & bring along their favourite cake, which will be sampled by a panel of judges (don't all rush to volunteer!).

The winner of the cake judged to be the best, will have the honour of receiving the 'whisk trophy' !

The cakes will then be sold for £1 a slice, with proceeds going to the Exeter fund.

All entries should be handed in at 12.30 at the start of classes, and the judging will take place at 1pm sharp - so get baking!!!!!!

Many thanks to Janis for organising such a tasty fundraiser!
